"MINDFULNESS DAY"

PROGRAM FOR "MINDFULNESS DAY"

Universal Wisdom Foundation is inviting you to attend a basic meditation course on March 14, 2010 at the UWF Center (overlooking Taal Volcano) located at The Lake Hotel, Maharlika East, Aguinaldo Highway, Tagaytay (overlooking Taal Lake ).We will call it "Mindfulness Day."

The main aim of Buddhist Meditation is to purify the mind of all negative tendencies -- such as greed, anger and delusion through mind control. When all the negative tendencies are removed, the mind will be freed from suffering.

To reach the UWF Center in Tagaytay, just get a bus to Tagaytay in Lawton , Manila. Bus fare is P108. The bus passes exactly thru The Lake Hotel. Please bring your own food or packed lunch. You may also order food for lunch at the cost of P100.

We would like to remind everyone that we will ONLY EAT VEGETARIAN FOOD during the meditation. Please bring white towel for the "lying meditation" and use comfortable clothes. Imported meditation mats are also available at the center for a minimum cost.

This gathering will also serve as a despedida party for our beloved Filipino Theravadin monk from Cambodia, Venerable Vincent Taguinod, who shared with us his wisdom and knowledge on Buddhism.

This event will also hopefully develop mindfulness among practitioners and inspire everyone present to continue the path to enlightenment.

Meditating in the mountains can help to energize and cleanse our body, mind and spirit through the positive energy coming from the breathtaking scenery. Let us all take this opportunity to be mindful and be a part of the journey.
